Here’s what’s cookin’ Ham / Broccoli Roll-Ups
Recipe from the kitchen of Jan Marwitz
Serves 3
Ingredients
- 1 10 oz. pckg. broccoli — frozen
- 1 5 ½ oz. pckg. refrigerated buttermilk biscuits
- 1 cup finely chopped ham
- 1 Tbs. butter
- 1 Tbs. flour
- ⅛ tsp. pepper
- ¾ cup milk
- 2 oz. Cheddar cheese, shredded
Directions
Prepare broccoli as label directions and drain. Preheat oven to 375°.
On floured surface roll out each biscuit into about a 5 inch square. Cut broccoli into 10 spears. Arrange 2 spears on center of each biscuit with tips facing outward, and top with ham cubes.
Fold biscuit sides over broc/ham and pinch to seal. Place biscuits, seam side up, on a large cookie sheet. Bake 12–15 min. until lightly browned.
While baking, in 1 qt. saucepan over low heat, melt butter, stir in flour and pepper. When smooth stir in cheese until melted.
Pour sauce over biscuits and serve.
Notes
- The card calls for finely chopped ham in the ingredients but "ham cubes" in the directions.
- The sauce step lists butter, flour, pepper and cheese; the ¾ cup milk isn't named again, but it belongs in the sauce after the flour.
