Here’s what’s cookin’ Ham Pie
Recipe from the kitchen of Jan Marwitz
Serves 4–6
Ingredients
- 2 cups cubed ham
- 5 med. potatoes
- 1 can English peas
- ½ cup grated cheese
For the white sauce
- 1 Tbs. butter
- 1 Tbs. flour
- 1 cup milk
Directions
Peel and dice potatoes. Cook in salted water until tender. Drain, put in large casserole dish.
Drain peas and put over potatoes. Spread ham over peas.
To make white sauce — melt 1 Tbs. butter in same potato sauce pan and add 1 Tbs. flour. Stir until smooth, then add 1 cup milk. Heat and stir continuously until creamy smooth thickness is achieved.
Pour over casserole and sprinkle with cheese. Bake in 425° oven til cheese is melted.
Complete meal with salad and bread.
